However gloomy I may be feeling, regardless of the reason, P. G. Wodehouse's glittering dialogue always cheers me up. Sometimes, however, a line is particularly resonant. I have a poor memory^*, so the following lines made me chortle even more than normal.

^* My memory for some things is so poor that I can re-read detective fiction and still take a pleasant interest in the whodunnit? aspect. I think it must compensate for a ridiculous degree of retention of obscure computing facts.
